Have lunch with Nicklaus

Rory McIlroy began his way to the Masters with what is " the best 90 minutes" which cost him a long time.

He had lunch last week with Jack Nicklaus.

An unbelievable experience, McIlroy said Tuesday.

McIlroy, 20 years old from Northern Ireland who has already reached No. 9 in the world ,had a diner with a network of friends he made at The Bear Club on the

eve of the Honda Classic.

He wanted as much information as possible on Nicklaus's victory. Nicklaus's 18 professional majors have been the standard of golf and the golf clubs he used were the first choice for many golfers.. What
he had done is more than we could imagin.

It was wonderful to sit down and talk with him and see his approach to winning, and what went through his head when he was under pressure, and what could be

done by him differently from others. It was probably the best 90 minutes I had spent in a long time.

McIlroy won the Dubai Desert Classic last year as his first and only victory in the European, although enough time has claimed the top 10 in the world and

he had been seen as a rising star in the golf. He works with sports psychologist Bob Rotella for assistanceaftercompleting the tournament.

It does not hurt meetings with Nicklaus.

The one story was that Jack Nicklaus did not win the best tournament which he had ever played. It was the 1977 British Open, at Turnberry which was the

famous "Duel in the sun", in which Nicklaus and Tom Watson shot the same scores every day. Watson ended up with 65 - a birdie on the last hole 18 - won by one shot.
